Principal's Message

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Peek’s Chapel Elementary School for the 2016-2017 school year.  It is with great pleasure to announce that I am joined by Kelly Griffin, who is our newly appointed Assistant Principal.

We are elated to bring our skills as educational leaders to your son/daughter’s school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.

Along with the staff, we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Peek’s Chapel by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners.  We will focus on fostering a nurturing, safe and orderly environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, consistent implementation of the Georgia Standards of Excellence to increase students’ growth and achievement, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students. This year, we will be one of four Rockdale County schools that have received money from the Striving Readers Literacy Grant.  The grant provides teacher training and resources, classroom libraries, and other materials to advance literacy skills – including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing – for students from birth to grade 12.

We anticipate a most successful year as our team will support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Peek’s Chapel Elementary School.

During the course of the year, it is our hope that we will work together to provide the students of Peek’s Chapel the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school.  As your administrative team, our doors are open and we welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
